William Ludwig
William Ludwig was born on September 13, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. William had only one sister, they are 4 years apart from each other. He started playing the drums at the age of 8 when his father brought home drumsticks, a rubber practice pad and a instructional book. At the age of 16, he won the National Solo Drum Competition. He then graduated from Park-River Forest high school in Illinois and got into the University of Illinois. There he studied business economics and took part the the schools band. He also played drums during the night making $4.00 a gig. William's father owned the Ludwig Drum Company and sold it. In 1955, William was chosen to take place on the Navy Seals. Once he returned he returned the Ludwig Drum Company to the Ludwig family. This drum company is now one of the greatest drumming companies around.
Ringo Starr
Ringo was born July 1940, the British drummer was a part of the beatles. People say he wasn't the greatest drummer, but they don't know what he has done for the beatles music. If you replace Ringo's style, the beatles would not be the same. He was very smart when it came to creating rythms to a song to make them that much better. I feel that if it wasn't for him, the beatles wouldn't be as popular.
Ian Paice
Ian was born June 1948, he was a drummer for the band Deep Purple. He is one of the fastest drummers the rock and roll world has seen. Ian combined his speed with amazing rolls, undeniable beats, and flair. Also his foot speed is crazy, its almost like he doesn't even try.
Neil Peart
Neil was born September 1952, the Canadian drummer played for Rush. He is arguably the best drummer in the buisness. Neil has a great groove and feel and a good technical, musical, and creative abilities. His drum solos are quick but he can slow it down with ease. I feel that he could be one of the greatest of al time.
